High Desert Home Euthanasia

Gentle care, in the comfort of home

Dr. Jessie offers in-home pet euthanasia and, when you need it, transport to a crematorium afterward. Everything happens at your home, at your pace, so your pet never has to make one last stressful trip.

What we offer

In-home euthanasia

When it's time, Dr. Jessie comes to you. Your pet stays in the place they know best, surrounded by the people who love them, with no car ride and no clinic.

She'll talk you through everything before she begins, so you know what to expect. The process is gentle and painless: first a sedative so your pet drifts into a calm, comfortable sleep, then the final medication while they rest peacefully. You decide where it happens and who's there. There's no rush, before or after.

Aftercare

Crematorium transport

If you'd like, Dr. Jessie can arrange transport to a trusted local crematorium, so you don't have to manage those details while you're grieving. She'll walk you through the cremation options and what each one includes when you talk.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How does the process work?
The first few minutes of the visit consist of a discussion about the process of euthanasia, necessary paperwork, and time for any questions you may have. Then a calming sedative is given by injection. Peaceful relaxation and full unconsciousness set in over 5-15 minutes. Once your pet is sleeping comfortably, a second injection is given. Breathing stops within 30 seconds, followed by the heart slowing and stopping over 1-3 minutes.
Will it hurt my pet?
No. Sedation creates a comfortable and painless transition to sleeping. Your pet may be uncomfortable with the doctor in their home, so having yummy snacks and treats or toys with a cozy place to sit helps create a calm environment for your pet.
How long does a visit take?
Home visits typically last 30-60 minutes, but each visit is unique and tailored to the pet owner's wishes and levels of service ordered. Please plan on at least an hour.
Can my children or other pets be there?
Absolutely. You choose who you would like to be present. It is helpful to explain to children before the visit what will happen and give them the choice to be present or to say goodbye beforehand. If children do choose to be present, it can help to have a trusted adult that is entirely focused on them to ensure you can focus on your pet during the visit.
What happens to my pet afterward?
There are three options for body care after the visit. First, you may choose to bury your pet at home or at a pet cemetery. Second, you may choose to have your pet cremated and not have any ashes returned to you. The third option is cremation with ashes returned to you.
What areas do you serve?
Serving Utah County and parts of Salt Lake and Wasatch counties. Extended service areas are available.
How do I pay, and what does it cost?
Credit, debit, and cash are accepted. Prices vary based on travel distance and aftercare choices.
